This edition follows the release of Pavel's "Quick and the dead" book which has a different interval plan for swings, extending the breaks for purposes of optimizing physiological benefits. That new book seems to be counter to the original S&S plan which aimed towards more compressed rest intervals.
Now, the new version of S&S takes into account the science that was refined during the testing for the Q&D templates. This is not a minimally updated book. It is well worth buying even if you have the first edition. Pavel has always stated in his early books that the science is not static, but ever evolving, so this latest edition draws on the latest tested template for progress with the best outcome.
