The two documents that compose this book are based on Karl Marx’s talks in 1847 and 1865 addressing workers’ conferences. They introduce and comprehensively explain important aspects of political economy such as: surplus value, the law of value, labour force, profit, etc. Its study can introduce Marx’s more complicated works (such as the Capital), and help us gain skills to explain these important concepts to the masses.
This edition of Wage Labour and Capital is a reprint of the First Edition, Foreign Languages Press, Peking, 1978, which follows the 1891 German edition. Wages, Price and Profit is a reprint of the First Edition (Fifth Printing), Foreign Languages Press, Peking, 1975, which follows the text in Marx and Engels, Selected Works, Foreign Languages Publishing House, Moscow, 1951, Vol. I.
