Milton H. Erickson, MD (1901-1980) is considered to be among the greatest hypnotherapists of modern times. Ernest L. Rossi, PhD (1933-2020), a student-colleague, worked with Erickson in the final decade of his life documenting deeper understandings of entering into the trance state. Continuing with the groundwork introduced in the previous book, this volume presents applications of clinical hypnosis written early in Erickson’s career. A transcript of a trance induction is annotated with commentary in which questioning of Erickson’s subtle techniques provides a deeper understanding approaches Erickson used to enhance naturalistic healing and to stimulate change. Rossi’s explanations of the psychosocial genomics and the psychobiology of the process brings the work into current scientific context.
