S*xo, Sangre y Frontera Sur. Encuentros y desencuentros mestizos en Melilla

(ENG) Borders have become a fundamental vehicle of a renewed coloniality, presently concealed by the apperance of equality between nation-states. Melilla, southern border of Europe and Spain with Africa, is a paradigmatic case of this deployment of global neocolonial power. But the border is not just a fence or a wall. In this Spanish enclave in the Moroccan Rif, the fence articulates with segregation, ethnostratification, racism, carceral devices, patriarchal forms of control over sexuality and mobility, and the de facto ban on cross-border marriage. The new multiculturalist hegemony conceals and embellishes these new forms of subjection. At the same time, cross-border or "mestizo" sexual-affective relations show feminized and racialized practices of care that challenge border imperatives, creating and sustaining forms of being and relation beyond apartheid. How to understand, then, the imbrication between border and patriarchy, or the patriarchal production of the border? How to exceed the limiting grammars of liberalism and "human rights"? How to understand coloniality in its new surreptitious forms? Here, in sum, we propose an expansive notion of the border that enables us to understand its totality in a way useful to confront it. (ESP) Las fronteras se han convertido en un vehículo fundamental de una colonialidad renovada, hoy revestida por las apariencias de igualdad entre los Estados nación. Melilla, frontera Sur de Europa y España con África, es un caso paradigmático de este despliegue del poder neocolonial global. Pero la frontera no es solo una valla. En esta ciudad española enclavada en el Rif, la valla se articula con la segregación, la etnoestratificación, el racismo, ciertos dispositivos carcelarios, formas patriarcales de control feminizado de la sexualidad y de la movilidad, así como con la prohibición estatal de facto del matrimonio transfronterizo. La nueva hegemonía multiculturalista oculta y maquilla estas nuevas formas de sujeción. Al mismo tiempo, las relaciones transfronterizas o «mestizas» de Melilla revelan prácticas feminizadas y racializadas de cuidado que desafían los imperativos fronterizos, creando y sosteniendo formas de ser y de relación más allá del apartheid. ¿Cómo entender, entonces, la imbricación entre frontera y patriarcado, o la producción patriarcal de la frontera? ¿Cómo exceder las limitantes gramáticas liberales de denuncia y de los «derechos humanos»? ¿Cómo contrastar la colonialidad en sus nuevas expresiones taimadas? Aquí, en suma, se propone una noción expansiva de frontera que nos permita entender su totalidad de manera útil para enfrentarla.
