pilation: 1 Volume Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika’s Children is a novel written by Yoshiyuki Tomino and published in 1988 by Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko. It is a single-volume work. There are two types of novels related to Char’s Counterattack”: “High Streamer” and “Beltorchika’s Children.” This novel, Beltorchika’s Children, was specifically written for the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko edition. While the basic storyline remains the same as the film of the same name, there are several new settings. As indicated by the subtitle “Beltorchika’s Children,” in the movie, Amuro has a girlfriend named Chan, but in this novelization, her name is Beltorchika. Additionally, Char pilots a mobile suit called the Nightingale instead of the Sazabi. In 1989, an audio cassette book based on this work was released. This was re-released on CD in 2021. Furthermore, the Nu Gundam depicted in the illustrations of this paperback edition differs in appearance from the conventional version. It was later established as the Hi-Nu Gundam and gained recognition through garage kits and appearances in games. In 2007, it was released as a “Master Grade” Gunpla kit, and it was the first time that official design drawings by designer Yutaka Izubuchi were created. In December 2013, an e-book version was released and made available on platforms such as Amazon Kindle, BOOK☆WALKER, and iBookstore.
