Exploring women’s voices and employing rhythmic prose cadences, this collection whisks readers from the U.S. to Italy to the Philippines in heady pursuit of the crucial moments that shape lives. Many of the pieces collected here were first published in such literary magazines as Oasis, The Dominion Review, and Painted Bride Quarterly. JOHN PARRAS is the author of FIRE ON MT. MAGGIORE (University of Tennessee Press, 2005), which won the 2004 Peter Taylor Prize for the Novel. The recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship for Fiction, Dr. Parras teaches literature and writing at the William Paterson University of New Jersey and splits his time between the United States and Italy.
