Are there “natural slaves” – even though human nature is largely determined by the logos and membership in the polis? The study uses the example of slavery to analyze the central motif of “nature” and natural states in Aristotle’s political philosophy. Slavery is an institution anchored in the Aristotelian understanding of human nature but can also be critiqued in this context.
