A self-contained fantasy novel in a medieval setting with minor philosophical undertones.
God is dead, and the last of humanity casts rituals out of his remains. All but immortal and cursed, they wage a grinding, losing war against an enemy they can outfight but never defeat. Until a wrench finds its way into the works to disrupt the status quo.
Melaan is barely three centuries old. Armed with their trusted spears, shields, bows, and something more sinister, he and his raggedy band desperately fight on for all they’re worth. Both against their enemies and between each other.
Events unfold, as they inevitably do. Laughs are shared, tears are wept, hearts are broken, and sieges are launched. Though not in that order. The plot unravels, along with our heroes’ characters. In their last moment, will they be there to predictably save the day? To restore civilization to its rightful place and former glory? What if they won’t? What if they can’t?
