Of late Arthur Stringer has been resorting to free verse, a form of poetry that does not appeal to all readers. But whatever the merits of vers libre, he assuredly is qualified to indulge his fancy in it. His music is strong and that some of it is from the depths of his nature is evident from the present collection. For his material he has gone to the earth and the skies and he peers even into the future. In addition to the verses there is "An Afterword" which treats of the development of free verse. There are more than threescore poems of free verse in the book of some 125 pages.
