The book makes an analysis of 15 lyrics writers of Wen Tingjun, Wei Zhuang, Feng Yanshi, Li Yu, Yan Shu, Ouyang Xiu, Liu Yong, Su Shi, Qin Guan, Liu Yong, Xin Qiji, Jiang Kui, Wu Wenying, Wang Yisun. With consideration of their historical background, life experiences, character cultivation and art of writing, the evolution and development of the Tang and Song lyrics are traced back. The author not only takes into account their impact and the vertical and horizontal relevance, but also pays special attention to their real different, although they seem to be similar. Vivid and elegant lyrics can be used to make a deep exploration into the writers' heart, and flash of insight of lyrics inspires the reader's deep thinking.
