Diamonds to Amsterdam

The British Government rather liked Niven’s modest ability to transmute silver into gold, and this agreeable industry was stopped with the scientist’s murder.As soon as Tommy entered the case a rash of disappearances broke out—first Paradine, Niven’s manservant, then Professor Chard, a fellow scientist of Niven’s. Soon Tommy and Inspector Bagshott were confronted with an unknown who claimed to be Chard. He disappeared while Tommy and the inspector were transporting him to headquarters for questioning. The chase started in earnest and Tommy found himself in Amsterdam and involved with a cache of diamonds!Although this is one of Tommy Hambledon’s most racing adventures, with a great deal of situation humor, there is plenty of astute investigation to please all the Hambledon fans.Scene: England and Holland
