This volume presents the papers from the first workshop on perceptual issues in visualization. It addresses the issues and problems of creating perceptually-based presentations and presents innovative approaches to achieving such presentations. Through many examples, it describes color, geometric, and sound approaches to perceptually-based presentations. It suggests some guidelines and "dos and dont's" for such presentations.
