On the Trail of Ancient Man is a very entertaining book. I first read it in Jr. High School, and I was delighted to find it again on Amazon so that I could have my own copy and one to share with my son, who was travelling to Mongolia. It is a thrilling account of several "firsts." e.g. the first finding of dinosaur eggs (Protoceratops). The scientific findings are well explained in layman's language, and the accounts of their journey and interacton with natives are well written.
