"Still not one of the British knew that Pat O’Leary was really Dr. Albert Guérisse,..." p.241. There is much in this account of Brome's that doesn't ring true, very redolent of post-World War 2 victor's propaganda, including the bizarre torture practices (which appear like Jewish psychological projection), and the identity of Belgian physician Dr. Albert Marie Guerisse, who has about him something of the chameleon personality of Jewish spy Trebitsch Lincoln. There is an unstated subtext in this book.
